Proposal for a Pedestrian Crossing in Main Street

Councillors agreed that a decision needed to be made quickly if the funding for the project from this year's budget was to be secured, and as a public meeting would not now be feasible.  Approx 450 residents had expressed their support for the crossing against 7 objections.  In view of the overwhelming support received, the Councillors voted in favour subject to receiving an acceptable safety report. With six Councillors in favour, one against and one having declared an interest.
